Ntabamlope man stabs wife to death at parents ‘home

-An abusive Mkoba man stabbed his wife to death after she went to her
parents ‘homestead running away from his abusive tendencies.
Nyasha Matanha (37) appeared before Gweru Magistrate
Sarah Mugoni facing a charge of murder. The state led by Kenny Machovha alleges
that Matanha was married to Chido Mutasa (29) and the two had three children
together but Matanha was known for abusing wife and in September 2014 after he
assaulted Mutasa his in –laws took Mutasa away from him.
In April Matanha followed Mutasa to her parents’
homestead but was told by her parents to pay lobola first and on April 9 2015 Matanha
followed Mutasa to Ntabamlope Primary School where she was working as a maid.
He found her doing households chores and upon seeing her Matanha stabbed her
with a knife twice on the stomach killing her instantly.
He was remanded in custody and will appear
again in court on 15 June 2015.The Magistrate Sarah
Mugoni urged the public to seek mediation when disagreements happen.
‘In most cases it is difficult for people to realize
the extent of injury they inflict on others during disagreements and one of the
results is death ,‘said Mugoni .
